Prerna comes from three generations connected to textiles and Indian fashion. Her grandfather was a textile merchant, her uncle runs a menswear and formalwear brand, and her mother and aunt are fashion designers. As a child she spent time around fabrics, tailors, masterjis and karigars; by around twelve she could recognise silk, chiffon, georgette and different weights of crepe, and understood how fabrics behaved and dyed. She later became a surgeon, but that inherited eye for cloth, detail and honest advice never left her. Shringarika brings that knowledge to women in the UK with warmth, care and personal guidance.
